Cyril Baille has been one of France’s standout performers in the 2022 Guinness Six Nations and it has been revealed that the loosehead prop took time out of his schedule to visit a young fan in hospital.

The story began when 13-year-old Louca, a Stade Toulousain fan, collapsed during a school PE lesson after suffering a heart attack.

He was rushed to hospital and had to be cut out of the signed Toulouse jersey he was wearing by the paramedics.

Louca was fitted with a pacemaker and while he was recovering in hospital, Baille went to visit the youngster, presenting him with a new Toulouse jersey signed by all the players.

The visit was organised by Petit Coeur de Beurre, a charity that supports children born with heart abnormalities.

When it was explained to Louca that he would no longer be able to play rugby, a huge blow for the youngster who loves the sport, the charity’s director Marie Bergé got in touch with Toulouse to see what she could do.

Thanks to her intervention, Baille went to see Louca in hospital, presenting him with the jersey, as well as showing him a video of some of his favourite players wishing him well.

A few days later, Baille linked up with the rest of the French squad ahead of their opening game of the Guinness Six Nations against Italy.

He started the 37-10 win over the Azzurri before another standout performance in the 30-24 win over Ireland.

Baille and France are now preparing for their Round 3 clash with Scotland as they look to make it three wins from as many games.
