COFFEE DATE: AARON WAINWRIGHT

wainwright
The Wales and Dragons back rower who has been a standout for his country in this year's Championship.

What’s your coffee of choice? Flat white.

Who would write your biography? Simon Thomas. He’s a journalist. Very good bloke.

Who would play the soundtrack of your career highlights reel? Kid Cudi.

Is there one player you wish you could have played with? Sam Warburton, as a fellow back rower.

And one you’re glad you never played against? Sébastien Chabal. Nasty-looking man.

Which of your fellow forwards would do a job in the backs? James Benjamin. I don’t know how many times he’s converted from back row to hooker to centre. He can do it all. He’s also a Whiteheads and Bassaleg boy like me.

Is there a film you love, but others don’t? Interstellar is one of my favourite films, but a lot of people I speak to say they either don’t like it or don’t get it.

What’s your favourite Guinness Six Nations memory? Beating England in 2019. Even though we beat Ireland to win the Grand Slam, beating England at home during that Six Nations was unbelievable. It’s one of the best games I’ve been involved in atmosphere-wise. Unreal.

Which teammate would you take backpacking with you across the world? Dragons hooker Brodie Coghlan. He just has everything. He knows what to bring at the right time. Very switched on.

Wales v France kicks off at 15:00 GMT on Sunday 10th March (live on BBC and S4C).
