Elliot Daly will make his first start of the 2018 NatWest 6 Nations as England head coach Eddie Jones makes three changes to the starting line-up against France.

The 25-year-old comes in at left-wing as Anthony Watson moves to fullback with Jonny May switching wings, Mike Brown is the one who drops to the bench.

Ben Te’o will start at outside centre, replacing Jonathan Joseph, to partner Daly for the mouth-watering clash in Paris.

The final change from the side that lost at BT Murrayfield sees captain Dylan Hartley drop out of the 23 due to a tight calf – Jamie George slots in to the front row.

There are six changes amongst the replacements as Luke Cowan-Dickie, Brown, James Haskell, Joseph, Sam Simmonds and Kyle Sinckler join Richard Wigglesworth and Joe Marler on the bench.

Head coach Jones said: “This game is about the opportunity for the team to move forward and we want a response from the players this week.

“Against France we want to be brutal and aggressive on the gain line and to play with a great tactical discipline.”

Owen Farrell will captain the squad in Hartley’s absence and Jones admits it’s a proud moment for the Saracens fly-half as Mako Vunipola is named vice captain.

He said: “Owen will be very proud to be captain but at the same time he is disappointed for Dylan to miss out through injury and he knows the position of captain carries a lot of responsibility.”

“We need to make sure we have one strong voice among the forward leaders and Mako has been doing some great work behind the scenes and will step up and take that on officially against France.”
