Damian Penaud has won the Guinness Six Nations Try of the Round for his finish in France’s historic Round 4 win over England at Twickenham.

The France winger finished off a wonderfully well worked backs move to dive into the corner to score the seventh try for Les Bleus of the afternoon, as France subjected England to their record defeat at Twickenham and ended their 18-year winless run in a 53-10 win.

The move started with replacement hooker Peato Mauvaka throwing in to Thibaud Flament, before Gregory Alldritt collected the ball and passed on to Maxime Lucu.

Lucu found Yoram Moefana, who in turn found Thomas Ramos out the back, with England’s defensive line already out of shape as France looked to cause chaos.

Ramos passed to Ethan Dumortier, who got the ball out to Melvyn Jaminet and Les Bleus had a two on one suddenly.

Jaminet gave it to Penaud early, and the flyer raced in for his second of the afternoon untouched, to overtake Vincent Clerc as France’s all time Guinness Six Nations top try scorer with 12.

Penaud’s try was the winner of the public vote ahead of Taulupe Faletau’s score in Wales’ win over Italy, Huw Jones’ try against Ireland at BT Murrayfield and Mack Hansen’s wonder score in the same game.
