Since that title, both Ireland and Wales have secured Grand Slams while England have finished fifth and second respectively.

But in 2020, with both of those recent champions arriving at Twickenham, England will be hoping to get back on top.

England’s Championship opens with a trip to Paris on Sunday for the next instalment of Le Crunch.

England lost on their last trip to the French capital, back in the 2018 Championship, as Mathieu Bastareaud inspired the hosts to a famous win.

But after an impressive England win in the reverse fixture during the 2019 campaign, the age old rivalry continues to grow.

When is it being played?

Sunday February 2, 3:00pm GMT kick off

The Calcutta Cup will be on the line once more in Round Two as England continue their Championship with another away game.

Scotland retained the famous old trophy in the 2019 Championship after an incredible 38-38 draw at Twickenham.

And after their historic win in the Scottish capital a year earlier, rivalries resume at BT Murrayfield in 2020 and we can expect another classic encounter.

Saturday February 8, 4:45pm GMT kick off

After the first two rounds on the road, England return home to Twickenham in Round Three to take on Ireland.

Ireland were the victors here in 2018 as they completed the final leg of their historic Grand Slam.

But that is the only game England have lost at home in the Championship since 2012, and they will be keen to re-assert home dominance against an Irish side they downed in Dublin in 2019.

Sunday February 23, 3:00pm GMT kick off

Wales ended a four-match losing run to England when they emerged victorious in a classic Cardiff clash during the 2019 Championship.

And in 2020, the reigning Grand Slam champions head to Twickenham looking for a first win there in eight years.

However, England were unbeaten at home during the 2019 Championship and looking for revenge against their old rivals Wales.

When is it being played?

Saturday March 7, 4:45pm GMT kick off

Super Saturday in 2020 sees England head to Rome looking to continue their impressive record against Italy.

Never before have England lost to the Azzurri and they produced an impressive eight-try victory against the same opponents in Twickenham in 2019.

But with a potential Championship on the line in 2020, England are looking to repeat the last time they faced off with Italy in Rome in Round Five – all the way back in the 2014 Championship.

When is it being played?

Saturday March 14, 4:45pm GMT kick off

Fans in England and the rest of the UK can watch the games on BBC Sport and ITV Sport. For fans in Ireland, the matches will be on Virgin Media, while fans based in France can watch on France Televisions. Supporters in Italy can watch on DMAX.
