The fans have spoken and Wales full-back Liam Williams has been voted as the Guinness Six Nations Player of Round Three for his scintillating performance against England on Saturday.

In a top-of-the-table clash between the two unbeaten teams left in the 2019 Guinness Six Nations, it was Wales who emerged as 21-13 winners at Principality Stadium.

And Williams’ brilliant display in the No.15 jersey was a key reason why Warren Gatland’s men put themselves in pole position in the Championship.

England’s superb kicking game had seen them sweep aside both Ireland and France in the first two rounds but they got no change out of Williams, who was dominant in the air under the barrage of high balls – negating one of the visitors’ key attacking threats.

He also produced a virtuoso attacking performance with a number of electric kick returns from clearances downfield – a weaving tenth-minute return in particular setting the tone for what was to come.

He ended with 77 metres made on 13 carries and looked likely to break off a huge run every time he touched the ball.

With England nursing a 10-3 lead on 50 minutes, Williams chased after a Gareth Anscombe cross-kick and swooped over Jonny May to win a vital penalty that Anscombe slotted to narrow the deficit to four points and set Wales up for their comeback.

Williams’ team-mates Alun Wyn Jones and Dan Biggar, as well as French duo Demba Bamba and Antoine Dupont and Italy’s Tito Tebaldi were also up for the award but the Wales full-back was deservedly voted as the Guinness Six Nations Player of Round Three by the fans.
