It is that time of the week again – time to choose your fantasy captain for Round 4 of the Guinness Six Nations.

It is that time of the week again – time to choose your fantasy captain for Round 4 of the Guinness Six Nations.

The 2023 Championship has three more fascinating fixtures for fans to sink their teeth into, starting with Wales’ trip to Rome to take on Italy.

That is followed by a titanic clash at Twickenham, where England will face France in a crucial match in the race to win Rugby’s Greatest Championship.

And on Sunday, leaders Ireland will face Scotland with Gregor Townsend’s team eager to bounce back from their Round 3 defeat against Les Bleus at the first time of asking and win the Triple Crown.

And with three more seismic matches taking place, there are going to be significant repercussions in both the Championship itself, and in Fantasy Rugby.

No decision is more important than your captain – with double points making them an inevitably vital component of your side, and here are our three top picks for captaincy in Round 4.

Thomas Ramos (France – Back Three – 17.9 Stars)

Thomas Ramos is France’s first-choice goal kicker, their joint-top goal scorer and one of their most consistent performers.

The full-back has already crossed the whitewash twice in this year’s Championship and is averaging a stunning 62 points per game heading into Round 4.

Frankly, it is an incredible record for a player available for just 17.9 stars, a value that still leaves him outside the top five most expensive players in Fantasy Rugby this year.

Sure, a trip to Twickenham is a difficult ask for any team, and Saturday is set to be one of Ramos’ toughest tests, but he has already shown he can hang with the best of them against Ireland.

So, captain Ramos and watch as the Fantasy Rugby points come pouring in.

Caelan Doris (Ireland – Back Row – 17.5 Stars)

As Ireland’s highest-scoring forward, Caelan Doris has been one of the must-have players during this year’s Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby.

The powerful back row has been sensational, scoring one try, assisting another and making more breakdown steals than any Ireland player.

Those stats have left him with a remarkable average of 56.7 points per game, more than high-scoring backs like Mack Hansen, Garry Ringrose and Johnny Sexton.

This weekend, Ireland face another challenge against their nearest rivals in 2023’s edition of Rugby’s Greatest Championship, with Scotland in second on points difference.

It is sure to be a fascinating fixture, with both sides still in the hunt to finish top of the table, so there will be no easy metres for Doris at BT Murrayfield.

However, if he can replicate his performances from the first three rounds, then there is no telling how many points Doris can rack up in Edinburgh.

Paolo Garbisi(Italy – Fly-half – 12.5 Stars)

Paolo Garbisi returned to the starting XV in Round 3 as Italy put in a valiant display against Ireland in Rome.

The Azzurri came closer than Wales did to beating Andy Farrell’s side, thanks in part to Garbisi’s 10-point haul.

The fly-half scored 27.4 points against the world’s number-one ranked side, and with 70 minutes of Test match rugby under his belt, he is sure to be even better when his side face Wales this weekend.

It will be a closely fought encounter, and either side could come out on top, but `based on their recent performances Italy could be said to be a slight favourite for this one.

And with Garbisi back to his best and available for 12.5 stars, captaining him for Round 4 could be a shrewd move.
