Australian referee Angus Gardner will be the man in the middle in Cardiff this weekend as Wales play host to Scotland in Round 5 of the Guinness Six Nations.

Gardner, who was named World Rugby Referee of the Year in 2018, will be making his first appearance of the 2020 Championship.

He refereed the Grand Slam decider in Cardiff last year as Wales beat Ireland to claim the clean sweep, having also been in charge the previous year as Ireland beat England at Twickenham.

Gardner will be working alongside Luke Pearce and former Harlequins scrum-half Karl Dickson as his assistant referees, while Rowan Kitt is the Television Match Official.

Scotland currently sit third in the Guinness Six Nations table, and are bidding for a third successive victory after wins in Rome and at home to France.

Wales have lost three in a row since beating Italy on the opening weekend of the Championship.

The Under-20s clash in Colwyn Bay between the same teams, will be refereed by Italy’s Gianluca Gnecchi.
