The 2022 Guinness Six Nations came to a fantastic end on Super Saturday and with it came the conclusion of Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby.
Fans were treated to three sublime matches as France claimed their first Grand Slam and Championship title since 2010 defeating England 25-13 in Le Crunch at the Stade de France.
Meanwhile Ireland sealed the Triple Crown with victory over Scotland and Italy ended their wait for a win with victory over Wales in a Guinness Six Nations classic in Cardiff.
And with the conclusion of Round 5, we can officially announce the 2022 Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby Team of the Championship.
Respecting the four players per nation rule, we check out who the best performing players were below.
French dominance
Unsurprisingly there are a maximum four France players in the team, with two forwards and two backs in the side.
Second row Paul Willemse, who averaged 29.2 points per match throughout the Championship, is joined in the pack by Player of the Championship nominee Grégory Alldritt who slots into the back row after averaging an astonishing 48.5 points per match.
In the backs, there are no prizes for guessing the two Les Bleus stars, with 2022 Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship Antoine Dupont included at scrum-half with an average of 54.4 points per match.
And he is joined by centre Gaël Fickou who impressed throughout the Championship, scoring vital tries against Scotland and England on his way to an average score of 44.2 points per match.
Van der Flier leads Irish trio
Another Player of the Championship nominee, Ireland’s flanker Josh van der Flier, had the highest overall average among the forwards with 52.2 points, a tally that was boosted by 60.7 points in Round 5 after a try-scoring Player of the Match performance against Scotland.
He is joined by hooker Dan Sheehan, who led the forwards in Round 5 with a superb performance against Scotland , scoring a try of his own to earn 77.9 points and lift his Championship average to 42 points.
They are joined by centre Garry Ringrose who averaged 49.6 points across the Championship after some phenomenal displays in midfield for Andy Farrell’s side.
Smith top scorer in Championship
Marcus Smith finished the Championship as the top points scorer on the pitch as well as in the fantasy ranks after a superb maiden Guinness Six Nations campaign.
He averaged 66.6 points per match, eight points ahead of the competition, as the England fly-half quickly became a vital member of every fantasy team in the game.
He is joined in the side by England and Harlequins teammate Alex Dombrandt, who averaged 34 points per match, and prop Ellis Genge who scored 33.7 points per game after a sensational campaign.
Skipper Hogg joined by two fellow Scots
Scotland captain Stuart Hogg is the full-back in the team, with an average of 58.6 points throughout the Championship.
The Exeter Chiefs star is joined in the Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby Team of the Championship by fellow back three player Darcy Graham, who averaged 49.6 points per match.
Prop Pierre Schoeman is also included with an average of 27 points after a try-scoring performance against Ireland, which helped him make the Round 5 Team of the Week.
Elsewhere, Italy’s Monty Ioane is on the other wing to Graham, with an average of 49 points helped by a stunning performance against Wales which bagged him a round-leading 93.4 points.
The sole representative from Wales in the team is lock Will Rowlands, who impressed in Wayne Pivac’s engine room throughout the Championship, chalking up 24.7 points per game.
