Italy have made only one change for their showdown with Australia as Jayden Hayward comes into the starting XV for Conor O’Shea’s side.

Italy, who reigned supreme over Georgia last week in a 29-17 victory, take on the Wallabies in Padova as Hayward replaces his Benetton teammate Luca Sperandio.

Leonardo Ghiraldini continues at captain as he is set to make his 98th cap in the absence of Sergio Parisse.

Mattia Bellini, the final try scorer in the win over Georgia, starts on the wing for a second game in succession as the Azzurri look to secure back-to-back November Test victories.

Tommaso Castello and Michele Campagnaro start at centre following Campagnaro’s decision to join Wasps this week.

Benetton duo Tommaso Allan and Tito Tebaldi start at fly-half and scrum-half respectively.

Sebastian Negri is at lock with Jake Polledri and last week’s man of the match Braam Steyn starting as flankers.

An experienced second row features Alessandro Zanni as he wins his 108th cap for the Azzurri, alongside Dean Budd.

Simone Ferrari, Ghiraldini and Andrea Lovotti get the nod in front of them for the clash against the two-time World Cup champions.

Ahead of the fixture against the seventh ranked side in the world, head coach O’Shea talked up the challenge of facing the Wallabies.

“Australia is a tough team to tackle,” he said.

“We have worked well in the last few days and for the first time since the start of the test match we had a normal working week without long journeys.

“We know that playing our best rugby can put them in trouble. We have achieved an important victory against Georgia, but our focus from last Sunday is only on the next opponent.”
