Ireland let a 14-point lead slip before converting a late penalty to snatch a dramatic 27-24 victory over Scotland in Round 4 of the 2021 Guinness Six Nations.

An early Robbie Henshaw try put Ireland into the lead at BT Murrayfield and although Finn Russell’s bizarre score, with the build-up including Stuart Hogg kicking the ball into his own face, briefly gave Scotland the advantage, they soon trailed once more.

Johnny Sexton kept the scoreboard ticking over from the tee and Tadhg Beirne’s try helped them lead 24-10 heading into the final 20 minutes before Huw Jones and Hamish Watson both dotted down to dramatically draw Scotland level.

However, Sexton held his nerve with a late penalty from out wide to continue Ireland’s recent dominance over their Celtic rivals and end Scotland’s slim chances of winning the 2021 Guinness Six Nations title.

Here are the highlights from the contest.
