The TikTok Women’s Six Nations is back in its traditional format for 2022 and rugby supporters across the United Kingdom will have greater access to it than ever before.

The Championship’s new standalone slot in the calendar should also do wonders for the exposure of the women’s game, in what is a World Cup year.

Every match will now be screened in the UK as part of a new broadcasting arrangement that has kicked in this year.

The action gets underway on Saturday lunchtime when champions England travel to the DAM Health Stadium in Edinburgh to face Scotland.

England were impressive 52-10 winners on home turf in last year’s Championship, although Scotland do come into the match on a high, having qualified for this autumn’s World Cup off the back of defeating Colombia last month.

The match will be shown live on BBC Two, with the action kicking off at midday.

Later in the day, Wales head to Dublin’s RDS Arena to face and Ireland side who blew them away the last time the two teams met.

The girls in green were unstoppable in winning 45-0 at the Cardiff Arms Park and the visitors will be striving to ensure this will be a closer contest.

BBC Two Wales will be showing this one, with the match starting at 4:45pm.

The opening weekend will then close with France v Italy at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble on Sunday afternoon.

The two teams did not face each other in 2021’s remodelled Championship, although the French did run out 45-10 winners in Limoges when they last clashed two years ago.

This game will be streamed on BBC iPlayer (who will also be carrying the other two fixtures, in addition to their more ‘traditional’ channels) and will kick off at 3pm.
