When something is achieved for just the third time in history, it’s going to be a special moment and the Ireland team certainly enjoyed their Grand Slam.

It was the perfect St Patrick’s Day for all involved with the Ireland squad as they sealed a historic NatWest 6 Nations Grand Slam triumph with a 24-15 win over England.

And despite the freezing temperatures, the players rightly took time at Twickenham to savour the moment of winning five from five in the Championship.

The NatWest 6 Nations photographers were on hand after the trophy presentation to get you the best behind-the-scenes images from Ireland’s celebrations.

Ireland’s 28-8 win over Scotland in round four was enough to see them win the NatWest 6 Nations but only with victory over England was the Grand Slam secured.

Jonathan Sexton’s match-winning kick against France was one of the moments of the Championship and he took time to enjoy the win with half-back partner Conor Murray.

There was plenty of family members at Twickenham to see the success including CJ Stander’s wife Jean-Marie and Stockdale’s partner Jessica Gardner.

And the children of Keith Earls and Rory Best were not going to miss out on their chance to sneak onto the Twickenham turf.

Back inside the dressing room, the champagne corks were popped as the visitors celebrated their historic achievement with the NatWest 6 Nations trophy and the Triple Crown.
