France’s 2019 Guinness Six Nations is finally up and running after their impressive win over Scotland but lock Felix Lambey knows there is still a long way to go.

Gregory Alldritt’s late double added gloss to the scoreline on Saturday as France claimed a bonus-point 27-10 win over Scotland in the Stade de France.

Romain Ntamack and Yoann Huget also crossed for the hosts in the victory that keeps their 20-year unbeaten home run against the Scots alive.

But after round two’s chastening defeat in Le Crunch, Lambey knows his side still have improvements to make.

Lambey said: “We feel a lot of pride for the way we have bounced back against a strong and competitive Scotland team.

“We tightened things up in the week, had a hard look at ourselves and were brutally honest.

“This was a small step but that gives us the confidence to work hard, and with more certainty, towards the Ireland game.”

Meanwhile, centre Mathieu Bastareaud admitted a lot of soul-searching during the week had played its part in a dominant victory.

“That was a tough week for us but we knew we would need to come together for this Scotland match,” he said.

“There were not many people behind us today, too bad! We believed in ourselves, we were in our bubble, we worked well and it came off.
