Wales scored five tries as they moved up to second in the 2018 NatWest 6 Nations table with a bonus-point win over Italy.

George North scored two tries in the win, while man of the match, Hadleigh Parkes, Cory Hill and Justin Tipuric also crossed in the 38-14 success.

Italy got two tries, from Matteo Minozzi and Mattia Bellini, but could not take advantage of the two yellow cards Wales conceded in the second half.   Wales started strongly and had two tries within the first ten minutes as Parkes and then North went over – the latter after a great intercept and break from Owen Watkin.

Italy responded when Matteo Minozzi showed his dazzling feet once again, taking his tally for the Championship to three tries.

But despite losing Liam Williams to a yellow card, Wales were able to cross for their third try as Cory Hill burst through a huge gap to score from close range.   With a 24-7 lead, Wales were in control, and they got their bonus point with quarter of an hour remaining from North.

There was still time for Tipuric to add a fifth, although Italy had the final say as Bellini was put in by Federico Ruzza.
