Nominations for the 2018 NatWest 6 Player of the Championship will be revealed on Sunday afternoon with fans set to once again be given the chance to vote for the winner.

This year’s nominees will be selected by an expert panel consisting of leading members of the media with voting by fans set to begin the day after the final round of matches.

Scotland’s Stuart Hogg has won the award twice in the last two seasons while Brian O’Driscoll is the record holder with three wins (2006, 2007 and 2009).

Commentating on the award, which is in its 15th year, Six Nations Rugby CEO John Feehan said: “Player of the Championship is a wonderful opportunity for fans to recognise a player who has brought them the most entertainment over the preceding two months.

“Once again, we’re opening the vote to the public though with just six nominees the dynamic has changed somewhat. It has been a fantastic Championship with quite a few players impressing over the opening four rounds, and let’s not forget we have a full round of fixtures to go so it is very possible more contenders could emerge on Super Saturday.”

“As ever, we wish all the players the best of luck this weekend and thank them for the wonderful entertainment they’ve brought us during the Championship.”
