Round 2 proved to be a truly formidable round of rugby, and it is now time to reveal the Player and Team of the Round.

After a week of away victories in Round 1, it was the three home sides who claimed glory last weekend, as Ireland, Scotland and England felt that winning feeling.

And as Scotland finally backed up their opening-day win with victory in Round 2 for the first time since 1996, Finn Russell claimed Player of the Round after his three assists in Scotland’s 35-7 win over Wales.

He follows Scotland teammate Duhan van der Merwe, who took the crown a week ago, featuring in 78% of teams and earning 43% of the Player of the Round vote.

He is one of four Scotland players included in the Team of the Round, with hooker George Turner and captain Jamie Ritchie joined by Richie Gray in the forwards.

Unsurprisingly after Ireland’s formidable 32-19 win against France in the battle of the world’s two best teams, over half of the team are from Andy Farrell’s side.

Props Andrew Porter and Finlay Bealham are both included, having taken almost half of the vote in each position each.

James Ryan is named alongside Gray at second row after another stellar performance on his 50th cap, while World Player of the Year Josh van der Flier is named at openside flanker.

Caelan Doris was the most popular forward, taking 64% of the vote after his Player of the Match display in Dublin.

In the backs come three try scorers for Ireland, including Hugo Keenan, who is named at full-back with a whopping 69% of the vote after another performance to remember against France.

Garry Ringrose takes the outside centre berth after his match winning try, while following his worldie finish, James Lowe is named at left wing.

Despite victory, England have just one player named in the side, centre Ollie Lawrence, fresh from his Player of the Match display at Twickenham.

And finishing off the team comes France captain Antoine Dupont, after his mind-boggling tackle on Mack Hansen, while adding to his Try of the Round gong, Damian Penaud is also named in the Team of the Round.
