The returning Finn Russell represents one of four changes made to the Scotland starting XV for the final game of the 2021 Guinness Six Nations against France on Friday evening.

Russell, who plays his club rugby in the French capital for Racing 92, lines up at fly-half having missed the Round 5 win over Italy through injury.

Captain Stuart Hogg took the No.10 jersey against the Azzurri but moves back to his usual spot at full-back for the trip to Paris with Sean Maitland dropping out of the matchday 23.

Ali Price comes in for Scott Steele at scrum-half to complete an all-changed half-back duo while Chris Harris replaces Huw Jones at outside centre.

Darcy Graham and Duhan van der Merwe retain their places on the wing.

There is just one alteration to the pack which started Scotland’s convincing victory last weekend, with George Turner selected in place of David Cherry at hooker.

Cherry is among the front-row reinforcements available on the bench alongside Oli Kebble and Simon Berghan, while the fit-again Adam Hastings could be set for his first appearance of this year’s Championship.

The 24-year-old has not featured internationally since picking up a knock against Wales in October during the final match of his country’s 2020 campaign.

Alex Craig, who made his Test debut off the bench against Italy, keeps his place in the squad.

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend said: “The match against France provides us with an opportunity to finish the Guinness Six Nations in our highest position in its history.

“This is a great opportunity for us to take on France, at home in Paris, as they also look to end the Championship on a high.

“Both teams have needed to manage a short six-day turnaround and we have used this week to regroup and focus on putting in our best performance of the competition so far, which we will need to deliver if we are to leave Paris with a victory.

“As a group we have faced several challenges throughout this Guinness Six Nations, it has brought us closer together, and I know the players are motivated and looking forward to representing their country again on Friday night.”
