Scotland Women have announced two international fixtures against USA and Spain this summer.

Scotland Women have announced two international fixtures against USA and Spain this summer.

Bryan Easson’s side, who finished sixth in the 2022 TikTok Women’s Six Nations, will face the fifth-ranked USA at the DAM Health Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday 27 August.

That will be followed by a second summer Test in Edinburgh against Spain two weeks later, on Sunday 11 September, with the kick-off times for both games to be confirmed.

Scotland’s last encounter against USA was during the 2006 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Edmonton, Canada, with the Eagles taking the spoils in the fifth-place play-off.

Their previous clash with Spain was during last year’s Rugby World Cup Europe Qualifiers in Parma, with the Scots holding off a late comeback from Spain to record a 22-27 victory.

Scotland head coach Easson, said: “To host two quality sides such as USA and Spain as part of our Summer Test campaign will provide a fantastic opportunity for our squad to develop and grow ahead of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

“We thoroughly enjoyed playing in front of a record home crowd against England at DAM Health Stadium in April so hopefully we will have another great crowd to send-off the team to New Zealand at the two matches.”
