JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is a big Scotland rugby fan and has regularly tweeted her support to the team throughout the NatWest 6 Nations.

And the author, 52, would have been proud of her side yesterday as they fought back magnificently to down Italy 29-27 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Sean Maitland and Stuart Hogg got crucial second half tries after Tommaso Allan and Matteo Minozzi had put the hosts in control at 24-12.

And with time running out, Greig Laidlaw slotted a tricky penalty to secure the win for the visitors.

Rowling was at BT Murrayfield to cheer Scotland on against England, a game the hosts won 25-13 at BT Murrayfield, before heading out to Rome in round five where she celebrated with the players at the post-match function.
