Scotland have been wowing fans with their fast-paced brand of rugby and Chief Operating Officer Dominic McKay insists their new jersey looks just as good at its launch last week.

Gregor Townsend’s side were superb in the 2018 Six Nations, with wins against France, England and Italy securing a third-place finish.

Twelve Tests will follow in 2018-19, including five in the Six Nations next spring, while the likes of Fiji, South Africa and Argentina visit BT Murrayfield in the upcoming autumn internationals.

However, their new jersey will first see the light of day in the Doddie Weir Cup match against Wales at Principality Stadium in early November.

The predominantly navy shirt and shorts are complemented by a green trim and stitching inspired by the official Scottish Rugby Tartan, with purple gradient side panelling.

The collar is a modern grandad collar with purple piping. On the left pec, the Scotland badge is applied to the match kit in a jelly-glue, smooth silicone finish for the first time, with the Macron logo on the right in a similar application.

The Saltire returns on the left sleeve, in the same application and style.

“Yet again Macron have created both attractive and technically innovative match kits for our men’s national team for the coming season,” said McKay.

“This is a hugely important campaign for Head Coach Gregor Townsend’s squad with Rugby World Cup 2019 in mind, and I am sure the squad and fans alike will embrace and enjoy wearing these bold new designs.”

Scotland begin their 2019 Six Nations campaign at home to Italy, before hosting defending champions Ireland a week later.

A tough trip to Paris follows in Round Three before Wales head to Edinburgh in Round Four, while their campaign finishes with the Calcutta Cup match against England at Twickenham.
