Head coach Gregor Townsend has added five new players to his revised Scotland squad ahead of their trip to face Italy as part of Super Saturday.
Glasgow Warriors quartet Scott Cummings (lock), Matt Fagerson (back-row), Adam Hastings (fly-half) and Richie Vernon (centre) earn their first call-ups of 2018.
Vernon earned his most recent of 24 Scotland caps in the Rugby World Cup 2015 quarter-final against Australia, with injury keeping him from adding to that tally.
Cummings, Fagerson and Hastings are all uncapped and could in line for their international debuts at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 12.30pm GMT).
Gloucester centre Matt Scott is also recalled for the final week of the NatWest 6 Nations having been involved with the squad earlier this year.
The Scots travel to Rome seeking their third win of the Championship and can still finish second, depending on other results across the weekend.
They were beaten in Dublin in round four a result which, following England’s defeat in Paris, confirmed Ireland as the winners of the NatWest 6 Nations.
