Wales, England and Ireland will all head into Super Saturday with hopes of clinching the 2019 Guinness Six Nations title.

Wales welcome Ireland to Cardiff knowing that victory for Warren Gatland’s men will guarantee them both the Grand Slam and the Championship.

A clean sweep of five wins would earn Wales an extra three bonus points in the final standings, putting them out of England’s reach regardless of whether Eddie Jones’ men can beat Scotland in the final game of Super Saturday.

Should Wales slip up at home to Ireland, England will be in position to claim the Championship – but will have to beat Scotland to do so.

England have three bonus-point wins already this Championship and a points difference of +83, so a bonus-point victory would guarantee them the Championship in the event of a Wales draw or defeat. A win would likely prove enough.

Ireland are also not out of the running to defend their crown from 2018, but they will need to beat Wales in Cardiff and also hope for Scotland to do them a favour at Twickenham.

Points difference will be the decisive factor in the event of a tie, although the only tie possible will take place if Ireland secure a bonus point win in Cardiff and England win without scoring four tries against Scotland.

In that event, both sides would be level on 19 points. England, who currently have a dominant 64-point lead in the differential, are currently better positioned to take the title should that scenario play out.
