Romain Ntamack and Yoann Huget scored classy tries as France beat France beat Scotland 27-10 in Paris to secure their first win in this year’s Championship.
Recalled to the side at fly-half, Ntamack dotted down for a sensational score in the 13th minute following a flowing move started by Toulouse teammate Thomas Ramos.
The superb effort – Ntamack’s first Guinness Six Nations effort – was a fitting reward for a fine first-half from the French, with the Toulouse rookies in particular excelling at the national stadium.
Ramos then added a conversion and a penalty, before Greig Laidlaw reduced the deficit to 10-3 heading into the pause.
With the game still evenly poised in the second-half, Huget went over in the corner to cap another breathtaking 80m move from France.
Replacement Gregory Alldritt extended the hosts’ lead, the No. 8 crashing over from short-range.
But Scotland refused to lie down, with another substitute, Ali Price, scampering clear to bring them back within 10 points.
Fittingly, though, it was France who had the last word – Alldritt doubling his tally with a carbon copy effort of his first to seal the bonus point.
