France have made one change to their team to take on Wales on Friday night with Gabin Villière replacing Damian Penaud on the wing.

Villière, one of France’s standout players in the first two rounds, missed the win in Scotland with a fractured sinus but is fit again to start.

He had been expected to come in for Yoram Moefana, but Penaud, along with second row Romain Taofifenua, has tested positive for Covid with both players forced to withdraw.

As a result, Villière slots in on the left wing, with Moefana swapping sides for the clash at Principality Stadium.

Elsewhere in the starting XV, captain Antoine Dupont is fit to start despite leaving training early on Tuesday, with Gaël Fickou also taking his place in the centres after missing training.

Taofifenua’s absence is one of two changes on the bench, with Fabien Galthié reverting to a 5-3 split between forwards and backs as Matthis Lebel comes into the No.23 jersey.

The other change sees Mohamed Haouas make his first appearance of the Championship in place of Demba Bamba as the replacement tighthead prop.
