Billy Vunipola and Ollie Lawrence have returned to training alongside the rest of England’s 2023 Rugby World Cup training squad at Pennyhill Park.

The pair had been rehabilitating from injuries alongside Ollie Chessum, Jack Walker and Mako Vunipola, but will now link up with the rest of the squad ahead of the 2023 Summer Nations Series.

Billy Vunipola was recuperating from knee surgery, having not played since April, while Lawrence is also on the way back from a knee issue.

Ollie Chessum of Leicester Tigers and Jack Walker of Harlequins will continue to train separately as they recover from their respective injuries but are with the squad at Pennyhill Park.

Meanwhile, Mako Vunipola will resume his rehabilitation at his club side Saracens.

Bevan Rodd returns to England’s Rugby World Cup training squad having been cut five days ago, but there is no place for Cadan Murley or Val Rapava-Ruskin.

England will get their 2023 Summer Nations Series campaign underway at Principality Stadium on 5 August when they take on Wales.

They will then face their Guinness Six Nations rivals at Twickenham a week later in Round 2.

Matches against Ireland and Fiji will follow, with the 2023 Rugby World Cup now firmly in sight.
