Wales have recalled flanker Josh Navidi to their squad for their remaining two Guinness Six Nations fixtures.
Navidi played 80 minutes on Friday night against Ulster, his first rugby since October, and that was deemed enough by Wayne Pivac to call up the back row forward.
The 31-year-old is now in line to take part in Wales’ two remaining fixtures, against France and Italy as the defending champions look to return to winning ways after defeat to England in Round 3 of the Championship.
Navidi last played for Wales in last season’s Championship, and Pivac will be delighted by his return ahead of the crunch clash with France, who are in search of a Grand Slam.
The return of Navidi means that Ellis Jenkins has been released from the Wales squad, and his inclusion in Cardiff’s squad travelling to South Africa likely ends his involvement in the Guinness Six Nations.
Alun Wyn Jones is not yet ready as he continues to recover from the shoulder injury sustained against New Zealand in the Autumn Nations Series.
