Wales will travel to South Africa this summer for a three-match Test series against the reigning world champions.

The first match will take place on the 2 July in Pretoria at the Loftus Versfeld, before a second meeting at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on 9 July.

The series will conclude the following weekend at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town in what will be a first trip to South Africa in eight years for Wales, with the hosts winning both matches on that occasion.

Wales and South Africa have faced each other on 37 occasions previously, the most recent being the Springbok’s narrow 23-18 win at the Principality Stadium in the Autumn Nation Series last November.

Their last meeting before that came in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, where South Africa prevailed 19-16 to reach the final.

Pivac will hope that his side respond after a Guinness Six Nations campaign that saw them finish fifth in the table with one win and four defeats.

South Africa, meanwhile, will be looking to follow on from last summer’s 2-1 Test series triumph over the British & Irish Lions.
