Back rower Mark Wilson returns to the England squad this week with head coach Eddie Jones recalling 25 players for three days of training in Oxford.
In preparation for their next Guinness Six Nations match against Wales at Twickenham on Saturday 7 March (KO 4.45pm), Wilson returns for the first time since coming off the bench in the World Cup Final, while back-three man Anthony Watson is also included.
Wilson established himself as a mainstay in Jones’ squads throughout 2018 and 2019, the 30-year-old starting four Championship games last year and featuring three times during the World Cup in Japan.
The industrious back row has proved his fitness with two classy performances for Sale Sharks since returning from knee surgery, and can play across the back row.
Watson, meanwhile, has spent time in England camp during the Guinness Six Nations but is so far yet to appear, he is bidding to prove his fitness following a calf injury.
Apprentice scrum-half Alex Mitchell will join up with the squad and fellow Northampton Saint George Furbank is in camp for rehabilitation. Prop Mako Vunipola and hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie are not included for family reasons.
