Alisha Butchers has won the TIkTok Women’s Six Nations Player of Round 1 for her Player of the Match performance Wales’ 27-19 win against Ireland on Saturday.
Butchers was everywhere both with ball in hand and defensively, making 57 metres from a staggering 19 carries, more than anybody else on the pitch.
She was also an absolute rock defensively, making 11 tackles, second to only captain Siwan Lillicrap on Wales’ side, while she also won two turnovers, more than anybody else in Dublin, as Wales began their new era with a bonus-point victory.
Butchers was voted the Player of the Round by the public, narrowly beating her fellow Welsh teammate Donna Rose to the prize as Wales claimed a 1-2 to kick start the Championship in style.
Butchers claimed 38% of the vote, while Rose, whose two tries off the bench changed the game in Wales’ favour, finished second with 31% of the vote.
England’s hat-trick hero Marlie Packer came third in the public vote with 25% after her world class performance in England’s 57-5 win over Scotland in Edinburgh.
France second row Madoussou Fall finished fourth with 6% of the vote after her try-scoring Player of the Match performance in Les Bleues’ 39-6 win over Italy on Sunday.
