Wales centre Hannah Jones has won the TikTok Women’s Six Nations Try of the Round for Round 1.
Wales had just taken the lead for the first time in the match when the Gloucester-Hartpury centre got the ball on the Irish ten metre line after a dart from Robyn Wilkins.
Jones, 25, broke through the tackle of Stacey Flood, before a firm hand off on Kathryn Dane saw her break into the 22.
She still had work to do with several Irish defenders chasing her down, but she simply had too much pace and dotted down in the corner, as Wales sealed a memorable 27-19 win.
Jones warded off England winger Abby Dow and Ireland prop Linda Djougang to the prize, taking 34% of the vote.
Dow finished second after her wonder score in England’s 57-5 win over Scotland in Edinburgh, with 28% of the vote, with Djougang’s powerful burst to the line against Wales receiving 27% to finish third.
In fourth, France speedster Emilie Boulard took 11% of the vote after her breakaway try in France’s 39-6 win against Italy in Grenoble.
