COFFEE DATE: ISABELLA LOCATELLI

LOCATELLI
A high-brow conversation over strong coffee with Italy and Colorno back rower Isabella Locatelli.

What is your favourite coffee? Double espresso

What are you watching on TV at the moment? I'm not watching a lot of TV lately, but on the other hand I'm reading a book on the origins of scientific thought.

Who would you like to write a book about your life? Oliver Sacks.

What song would soundtrack the highlights of your career? Reptilia by The Strokes.

Who is your best friend in rugby? I have many, I couldn't pick one in particular

What town do you call home? Caponago, a small and charming town in Brianza [Lombardy]. It's very calm and welcoming.

What is your ideal holiday destination? Definitely somewhere in the mountains, but lately I've also been rediscovering the lakes.

If you could go back in time, where would you go back to? To 2017, the year of my first World Cup.

If you wanted to be remembered for one thing, what would it be? I would like to be remembered for playing centre against England (which actually happened in 2023).

What is the most difficult aspect of being a rugby player? Having to take the Bronco Test.

And what are the best aspects? The rucks and getting your hands on the ball.

Which teammate would be your ideal backpacking companion? Vittoria Ostuni Minuzzi. We have the same ideas around what would make an ideal trip, so it would be very easy to organise everything. We've never had any problems with the choice of destination or the things to do either.
