D'Incà's successful year continues with MVP award

D'Incà MVP
Italy's Alyssa D'Incà has once again been recognised for her terrific form this season.

Already a nominee for the 2024 Guinness Player of the Championship, the 22-year-old winger went on to claim the Try of the Championship award this year. She was also included in the fans' Team of the Championship for a campaign in which she won more turnovers than any other player (eight), made at least four more dominant tackles than any other back in the Championship (11), and made 14.1 metres per carry, the best rate of any player.

Now it's her domestic form for Villorba that has seen her win the Serie A Elite Women MVP award for 2023/24. In another decision put to the fans, D'Incà stormed to the award for best player in the top domestic women's championship with 57.4% of the vote, ahead of fellow internationals Emma Stevanin (24.8%) and Vittoria Ostuni Minuzzi (27.8%), both of whom play their club rugby for Valsugana Rugby Padova.

Fittingly, all three of MVP-nominated players will compete for the Scudetto on May 25th in Treviso. At the end of the match, the 'Rebecca Braglia' trophy will be awarded to the Player of the Match, in memory of the young Emilian player who passed away in 2018.
