The first Player of the Round nominees for the 2024 Guinness Women’s Six Nations have been named.

England fullback Ellie Kildunne was the top try-scorer on the weekend with her brace against Italy in Parma, the choice of which was a scything run in the 49th minute. And all this despite the Red Roses being down to 14 players for most of the match (and with just 13 at one point). Kildunne made 15 carries that saw her make the most metres carried (205.9) and gained (155.7).

Wales prop Sisilia Tuipulotu was a shining light for Wales in a losing cause at home to Scotland in Cardiff. The 20-year-old, who now has 17 caps to her name, carried strongly throughout for Ioan Cunningham’s side, and was rewarded with a try for her efforts.

Scotland fly-half Helen Nelson pulled the strings confidently against the Welsh, unleashing her backline to great effect as they powered their way to a first Championship victory away to Wales in 20 years. Nelson also showed a proficiency from the tee which ultimately proved the difference between the two sides. The 29-year-old even made a breakdown steal.

France scrum-half Pauline Bourdon Sansus was the scorer of France’s opening try in Le Mans against Ireland, but it was her overall orchestration of proceedings during the first hour against the battling Irish that earned her rave reviews in round one. She made 68 passes to keep Les Bleues advancing, and made nine kicks in play to fly-half Lina Queyroi’s ten.
