    🥊 The Contest

France round off their Quilter Nations Series campaign with a blockbuster clash against Australia under the lights in Paris. The Bicentennial Trophy is on the line – a prize first contested in 1989 and symbolic of the rivalry between these two rugby nations.

France have won three of the last five meetings between the teams, but in four of those matches the difference between the sides has been a mere two points, suggesting we could be in for a close encounter this November.

Les Bleus will be looking to finish their autumn on a high after facing South Africa and Fiji earlier in the month, while the Wallabies arrived in Europe with renewed confidence under head coach Joe Schmidt.

    🇫🇷 France: Squad & Form

Fabien Galthié has named a 42-player squad for the series, blending established stars with emerging Top 14 talent. With Antoine Dupont still sidelined, the scrum-half duties fall to Maxime Lucu and Nolann Le Garrec, both of whom impressed during France’s 2025 Championship win.

Key absentees include Thomas Ramos, Cyril Baille, and Charles Ollivon, but the likes of Grégory Alldritt, Thibaud Flament, and Louis Bielle-Biarrey bring continuity and flair.

👀 One to watch: Benjamin Bertrand, the Toulouse prop, 22, tipped for a breakout autumn after a dominant Top 14 season.

📈 Recent form: France won the 2025 Six Nations and pushed New Zealand close in their July tour, despite fielding a far from full-strength side.

    🦘 Australia: Squad & Form

The Wallabies arrive in Paris after facing England, Ireland, and Italy earlier in the series. Under Joe Schmidt, they’ve shown signs of tactical discipline and defensive steel, with a pack built around the likes of Harry Wilson, Will Skelton and James Slipper.

Australia’s last visit to the Stade de France ended in a narrow 30–29 defeat in 2022. They’ll be eager to reverse that result and claim a statement win to close out their European tour.

👀 One to watch: Joseph-Aukuso Sua’ali’i – the centre lit up the autumn last year on his Test debut, and is growing into a truly world-class performer

📈 Recent form: Took the Lions series down to the wire, and recently gave arguably their best Rugby Championship showing in years.
